The snack ball is a must-have in rabbit toys. You can find it on any specialized site or in pet stores. But what is this little ball made of? Is it really useful for our rabbits? That’s what we are going to find out right now!

01 – Presentation

The snack ball comes in the form of a plastic ball, about the size of a tennis ball. The principle is simple, the ball is filled with treats for your rabbit and the rabbit has to roll the ball to get the treats out and enjoy them.

02 – How does it work?

To use it, simply fill the ball with sweets through the small trapdoor dedicated to this purpose. Please fill the ball with suitable rabbit treats, such as pieces of fresh fruit or granules. I strongly advise against using pet treats that are often too fatty for your rabbits.

Once the treats are inserted, the size of the opening is adapted to the size of the treats and the desired level of difficulty.

Finally, we give the ball to our rabbit who, attracted by the smell, quickly understands how to retrieve the treats.

03 – My opinion

After several weeks of use, I can give you my complete opinion. At first I had a doubt about the interest my rabbits would have in this toy. I must admit that I was greatly mistaken and that they immediately understood how to use it, thus developing their intelligence.
Moreover, this ball allows the rabbits to stay busy for very long minutes making the days even more pleasant for them. Another advantage of using such a toy is that it allows them to slow down the pace at which they eat. It is quite possible to use it occasionally for the evening meal with pellets that allow the rabbits to exercise while eating.
A flaw or rather a point of vigilance regarding this toy would be that in my opinion, it should not be used too often or your rabbit could become overweight.

Conclusion

The snack ball is a perfect toy for all rabbits, allowing them to develop their intelligence while exercising.
